Birthday Blooms - Case the Designer Challenge #gdp028

Hi! It's 'Case the Designer' Challenge for this weeks Global Design Project #gdp028. We are CASEing (Copy And Selectively Edit) the creation by gorgeous Jess Williams aka The Paper Caper - you really need to see Jess's Blog and her amazing creations.

Jess is the lovliest - I had the privelidge of meeting Jess in person in Melbourne for On Stage in November, just after the announcement of the Artisan Design Team 2016. And Jess is one of the Artisan Design Team Members. So happy for her!!! I love her inspiring projects.
This is Jess's card...
And my replica!!!
I struggled to move away from Jess's card. I love the layout, the colours and the Calypso Coral bow. The only difference is the stampset that I have used.
I woke this morning at 5am with an idea to use the 'Birthday Blooms' stampset, and I sat in the peace & quiet of the morning colouring the flower using my Blender Pen. After colouring, I went around the edges of the flower and leaves using Sahara Sand and my Blender Pen - I find this gives a little more depth and shadow to the image.
I also used the 'Everyday Chic Washi Tape' and the Washi Tape is perfect for taping the Vellum cardstock to the front of the card.  Vellum cardstock can be difficult to adhere unless you can glue underneath an embellishment, or using the 'Fine-Tip Glue' underneath a sentiment.
I love the 'Calypso Coral Seam Binding Ribbon' - you can tie bows to perfection using this gorgeous ribbon.

Thankyou so much for visiting my blog, and you have time to join in for some 'CASEing' fun. Click here to see the GDP Schedule.
Wishing you and your family a very Happy Easter.

| on
23:13
Hello, and welcome to my blog. It's a 'Theme' for this weeks Global Design Project #gdp027 and it's 'Thank you'.
There is always a reason to say 'Thank you' and this week the Global Design Project Design Team have all made a 'Thank you' card for some of their loyal participants.
Whether sent by mail or hand delivered, a 'Thank you' card for whatever reason lifts your spirits, and I am one of those lucky particpants who has recieved a 'Thank you' card from a Design Team Member!!! OH EM G!!! (I promise I will share with you who from further down the page...)

This is my Gate-fold 'Thank you' creation for this weeks Theme Challenge...
Last weekend I had a workshop for 8 beautiful ladies, 5 of whom I have known for a few years and are my Stampin' Up! friends - and joining them were 3 NEW Customers. We had the best time and as a 'Thank you' to my Hostess and the ladies who placed an order, I have made them all a 'Thank you' card.
Inside... 'You're Fabulous'
Using 'Stampin' Write Markers' in Basic Black, Calypso Coral & Old Olive, I coloured the 'Thank you' stamp from 'A Whole Lot of Lovely' - an exclusive Stamp set available to Hostesses!
Click HERE to see what you can earn by Hostessing a Workshop.
I love this stamp set, and I haven't used it in a while, so I was happy to bring it out for this weeks Challenge.
These gorgeous creations were designed by the most amazing Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and Global Design Project Design Team Member, Louise Sharp. Click HERE to visit Louise's blog and read all about why she made these notecards for me and my beautiful friend Karen
It's the little things in life and friendship (and before I reach for the tissues), and I am truly honoured to have a Louise-Sharp-designed-and-handmade-card-just-for-me.
(And it's going into a frame, STAT!).

'Thank you' for visiting my blog. If you get a chance try and play along with this weeks Theme Challenge - it really is a lot of fun. Click HERE for the Schedule.
I would love to hear from you, and you are more than welcome to leave me a comment. I love them!

'Thank you' - Kylie Bertucci's International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlight

| on
18:25
G'day! - you are visiting me in Australia! and Welcome to my blog.
'Thank you'; 'Danke', 'Dank je', 'Domo aragato', 'Gracias', 'Grazie', 'Hvala ti', 'Mahalo iā ʻoe', 'Merci', & 'Tack' for being here. How lovely to be thanked - for any reason; and to give or send a handmade card to appreciate someone's help, generosity or friendship can lift their spirits even more.
Kylie Bertucci is the gorgeous girl behind this Stampin' Up! International Blog Highlight and I signed up straight away. I love seeing what other Demonstrators create, and the inspiration already is outstanding. World wide! You can also vote for my card to be featured on Kylie's blog...
'Thank you' Kylie for this wonderful opportunity to be featured on your blog with these amazing Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.
My card uses the 'Botanical Blooms' Bundle - a gorgeous set of Floral Photopolymer stamps and coordinating 'Botanical Builder Framelits Dies' to create an abundant garden in cardstock. In this case, a jungle. With the humid weather we are experiencing at the moment, there is no Autumn in sight - so the jungle leaves are very appropriate right now.
The wood veneer 'Thanks' from the 'Expressions Natural Elements' was a perfect sentiment to sit amongst the jungle leaves & flowers, and the 'so much' is from the 'Endless Thanks' stampset, stamped with the 'Whisper White Craft Stampin' Pad' onto Basic Black cardstock.

Again, 'Thank you' for visiting my blog, and I really hope you have been inspired by my creation? Make sure you check out the other creations by some fabulous papercrafters. There are some outstanding projects you don't want to miss. And don't forget to vote

Global Design Project Sketch Challenge #GDP026

| on
17:29
 26 weeks of Challenges already = 6 months = half a year!!!
And it has been a very fun time Challenging myself to even attempt 1 creation a week (sometimes 2 or more) for this amazing Challenge Blog. Mondays are great, and I look forward to the email every week to remind me to play along. And you can too!
The Global Design Project #gdp026 has a Sketch Challenge  for this week, designed by Teneale Williams...
I was asked to make a 'Congratulations' card for an upcoming Engagement and to keep it 'simple' . I have used this weeks sketch as my inspiration...
The heart is from the 'Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit' and I have used the white side - underneath is gold foil. The tiny hearts are from the 'Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper' sitting underneath the Kraft cardstock mat.
A close up of the 'Gold Metallic Thread' and 'Congratulations' Banner. I love the font of the sentiments in the 'Balloon Celebration' stamp set and the finish of my creation. Simple.

Thankyou for visiting my blog and I hope to have inspired you with my creation. I have also added a Flipagram of all my previous Global Design Project Challenge creations. 'Congratulations' Global Design Project Design Team!!! You are a-maz-ing! D x

Creation Station Blog Hop 'Birthdays'

| on
01:00
Welcome to the March Creation Station Blog Hop! You may have hopped to me from Mikaela in the UK, or have hopped back to me from Julie in the UK - aren't their creations amazing??? Now you are visiting me in Australia!
This months Blog Hop is all about 'Birthdays'. There are so many beautiful products to get your Birthday creations happening, and the first 14 pages in the Occasions Catalogue have the perfect products for you.
The 'Birthday Bouquet' Suite was my pick... think Confetti, Balloons & Ice Cream Cones in tones of Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron & Pool Party.
There were so many ideas that popped into my mind, and I could not wait to use the super cute 'Bow Paper Clips Embellishments' - they are really super cute!, the 'Pool Party Glitter Ribbon', and the 'Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper' is just so beautiful.
OK - I will show you the creations I came up with...
A Confetti Birthday card & coordinating Gift Box using the 'Tiny Treat Boxes' (25 Kraft Gift Boxes measuring 5.1cm x 5.1cm x 5.1cm) The 'Pool Party Glitter Ribbon' beautifully finishes both of these creations.
Mint Macaron Balloons and 'Rhinestone Jewels' for that little bit of bling. A little touch of 'Mint Macaron Dotted Lace Trim' and a 'Bow Paper Clip'.
The trio of cards were really simple to make. You can make 6 cards from 1 sheet of 12" x 12" DSP. Below are the measurements for my 'Birthday Bouquet' Birthday cards.
Kraft Cardstock Base: 14.8cm x 10.5cm (5.8" x 4.1")
Whisper White mat: 14.3cm x 10cm (5.6" x 4")
Cardstock mat: 13.7cm x 9.2cm (5.4" x 3.6")
DSP: 13.5cm x 9cm (5.3" x 3.5")

I needed some Happy Birthday Gift tags in my stash. With some Blushing Bride cardstock, strips of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper & Gold Foil, some coordinating sequin trim and the 'Bow Paper Clips', I created these little darlings.
And these 'Ice Cream Cone' Gift tags using Mint Macaron. So sweet!

I hope you have been inspired to create your Birthday creations with the beautiful 'Birthday Bouquet' Suite. There are so many amazing creations for you to see from the Creation Station Design Team - keep on hopping... and thankyou for visiting my blog. D x

You're Sublime - Colour Challenge Global Design Project #gdp025

| on
15:04
It's a 'Colour Challenge' for this weeks Global Design Project #gdp025. There were a couple of things I thought of creating using the Colours for this week, and as the week was drawing to an end and the creations being submitted were growing, I had to rethink my creation. Here are the Colours for the Challenge:
In the end I created this little project...
I could not think of anything else than a 'Yellow Submarine!' Perfect for this weeks Challenge using the 'Daffodil Delight'. I love the 'You're Sublime' stampset so much, and I have made quite a few creations using this set. Click here to see another project I made last year using the Submarine.
A close up of the Submarine; I lightly daubed 'Smoky Slate' ink around the edges of the Sub, propellar & the periscope. The Submarine sits on top of a piece of Vellum cardstock which covers 'Whisper White' cardstock - stamped with images from the 'Botanical Blooms' stampset to make seaweed & coral. The fish were stamped and fussy cut too.
The flip-side of the card... Using the 'Basic Grey Stampin' Write Marker', I coloured the fish and bubbles and stamped them onto the 'Smoky Slate' cardstock. Again using the Marker, I coloured the sentiment and stamped above the images. Punching the cardstock with the '2 1/2" Circle Punch'. I added some 'Fine-tip Glue' to the fish to make them shiny.
I love how the 'Smoky Slate Thick Baker's Twine' and the 'Smoky Slate' striped DSP finish this little flip card. Very nautical.

Thankyou for taking the time to visit my blog. I had a ball making my Circle Flip card for this weeks GDP Colour Challenge. I would love for you to leave me a comment too.
Have a great weekend. D x
