'Random Act of Kindness' - Kylie Bertucci's International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlight

The ever gorgeous, Kylie Bertucci, has invited me to take part in her 'International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlight', and you can be involved too. You can vote for your favourite creation/s (hint, hint!) and all you have to do is click here.

I have previously blogged my creations you are about to see, but they were perfect for this 'Blog Highlight' as the chosen Theme is 'Random Act of Kindness', and my 'Weather Together' cards are just that! Some little bits of happiness to randomly give or send to someone 'just because'.

How gorgeous is the 'LOVE' sentiment? Sending some love is what it's all about. The 'Smoky Slate' raindrops in the background are from 'A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper'.
Using 'So Saffron' for the Umbrella, with 'Real Red' & 'Pool Party' flowers to brighten up someone's day.

A cute bunch of notecards; using 1 piece of the DSP you can get 4 cardfronts measuring 3" x 3". The notecard base measures 3 1/4" x 6 1/2" or 8.25cm x 16.5cm. Inside, I stamped the sentiments from the stamp set.

And a matchy-matchy gift bag; I'm thinking it filled with red Lindt balls!!! Now, that's the kind of Random Act I love.

A close up of the gorgeous 'Weather Together' Photopolymer Stamp Set. Send an encouraging note or let people know that you love them. Splash in the puddles and have a good time with this charming stamp set.

Thankyou for visiting and I would love for you to take the time to vote for me - the Top 5 Winners will win a spot on one of Kylie's International Blog Hop with Kylie in the future. I'd love that!
Have a wonderful weekend. D x

Happy Father's Day - Global Design Project 'Sketch Challenge' #gdp050

It's the Global Design Project 'Sketch Challenge' #gdp050.
Sketch designed by Teneale Williams (her creation is just gorgeous!!!), and have you seen the rest of GDP Teams creations? Go and have a look....

I love the simple layout of the Sketch, with the little bit of sewing under the greeting! With Father's Day only a week and a bit away, I thought this was the perfect starting point.

I have kept to the Sketch Layout, and instead of the sewing option, I added the Baker's Twine; a more masculine feature and fitting for my Nautical inpsired creation.

I love the sailboat; stamping the pieces in different colours and adhering the cardstock pieces to Vellum cardstock. I then snipped around the sailboat before adhering to my finished card.

Thankyou for visiting, and I hope you have an amazing rest of your week. Have you created for Father's Day yet?

'Thinking of You' - Global Design Project 'Colour Challenge' #gdp049

| on
20:14
It's a gorgeous trio of colours for this weeks Global Design Project 'Colour Challenge' #gdp049.
We are having some amazing Spring-like weather at the moment, and these colours remind me of Spring! It's just around the corner...

I have made a couple of creations this week, and the first creation is a Sympathy card for a dear friend of mine who has recently lost her 'Knight in Shining Armor'. With such a sad time, I hope this will lift her spirits a little.

I have used the 'Time of Year' Hostess stampset as the main sentiment, and the flower and leaves are from the 'Botanical Blooms Photopolymer stampset' & coordinating 'Botanical Builder Framelits Dies'.

I have embossed the sentiment; using 'Versamark Ink' onto the stamp, then stamping onto the 'Flirty Flamingo' inkpad and stamping straight onto the 'Whisper White' cardstock. I covered the sentiment with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and used the Heat Tool. The sentiment comes alive.

A closeup of the arrangement; all images were die cut in 'Whisper White' cardstock. The flower is mounted onto another flower from 'Flirty Flamingo' cardstock and the leaves onto 'Pear Pizzazz' cardstock. I then daubed around the edges to give a little bit of depth to the outlines. And some daubing of 'Daffodil Delight' in the centre of the flower.

And then I made these...

Originally I wanted to use the 'Fruit Stand DSP' because it contains all 3 colours of the Challenge. I wanted to make some tags using the waterwash dotty paper and using the 2 different styles from the 'Tags & Labels Framelits Dies', these little darlings turned out better than I imagined!

I love the flower reinforcement ring! Something that just came to me just before I added the 'Baker's Twine' to the tag. And the sweet little flower and leaves made from the 'Tree Builder Punch'.

And the 'Daffodil Delight' version. So delightful!

Thankyou for visiting me and seeing what I've created. I hope you have a wonderful week, and you get the chance to join in for this weeks Challenge? There's still time. Just click here.

Celebrate Today - 'CASE the Designer' Global Design Project #gdp048

| on
15:09
Hello! Another Challenge for this weeks Global Design Project #gdp048, and it's 'CASE the Designer' - the amazing & talented Tanja Kolar from Germany!
CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit.
I have used the same colours & similar design, although the same Balloon theme as Tanja's gorgeous creation.

The balloons have been heat embossed with 'Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder' onto 'Vellum Cardstock', then cut out using the Balloon die.
I added colour to the back of the Vellum by sponging ink and adhering the Vellum onto the coordinating coloured cardstock. The vellum adds a soft texture somewhat like a balloon.

The background was stamped with 'Pool Party' ink on 'Whisper White' cardstock using the cute cloud stamps from the 'Weather Together' stampset.
And not forgetting the 'Copper Metallic Thread' to anchor my balloons together. A perfect match to the Copper embossed Balloons.

Thankyou for visiting my blog. I love having you here.

Creation Station Design Team Blog Hop - 'Get Well Soon'

| on
00:00
Welcome to my blog, and to the 'Creation Station Design Team' Blog Hop for August. I am only a small part of this Blog Hop amidst a crew of talented and amazing Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. It's so fun being here and you can 'hop' around to see everyone's creations at the bottom of my post.

The Theme for this month is 'Get Well Soon', and there are some beautiful stampsets available to create some 'Get Well' projects and to make someone feel a whole lot better.

I have chosen the 'Weather Together Bundle'; the cutest photopolymer stamps & coordinating 'Umbrella Weather Together Framelits Dies'. It is the sweetest stamp set to let someone know you are thinking of them, and in this case for 'Get Well' messages and gifts.

I made some mini notecards - it's always a great idea to have a handful of these for a last minute "I need a card!" moment. The 'Smoky Slate' raindrops in the background are from 'A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper'. And the 'Real Red' umbrellas with their 'Pool Party' & 'So Saffron' flowers give everything a lift of colour and cheer.
PS: I used 'Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder' on the Umbrellas and fussy cut the flowers.

The Gift Bag was made using the 'Gift Bag Punch Board'; 'Basic Grey' cardstock and prettied up with 'A Little Foxy DSP' and the totally divine 'Pool Party Stitched Satin Ribbon'. DIVINE!!!

And another sweet & simple card this time using 'So Saffron' for the Umbrella, with 'Real Red' & 'Pool Party' flowers. The umbrella pole and clouds are embossed using 'Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder'
How gorgeous is the 'LOVE' sentiment? Sending some love is what it's all about.

A better view of the sweet sentiments & images from the 'Weather Together' Photopolymer stampset. You can click on the image to be taken to my Online Store.

Here is a short video featuring the 'Weather Together Stampset and Umbrella Weather Framlits Dies' by Stampin' Up! for your viewing pleasure and some more ideas for you to try.

Seaside Shore - Global Design Project 'Theme Challenge #gdp047

| on
12:57
I love a 'Theme Challenge' and that is exactly what's in store for this weeks Global Design Project 'Theme Challenge #gdp047.
And I love the theme chosen for this week!

So with the 'Seaside Shore' stampset, and the coordinating 'By the Shore' Designer Series Paper in mind, I set to make my creations...

First up is a Window Box Frame Birthday card. I found a tutorial via Pinterest on how to make a Square Window Box Frame, but I made mine rectangle! By accident!
I love how the frame has turned out using the 'Hardwood Background' stamp for the driftwood-like frame.
Click here for the tutorial by Tanya Rath from Germany.

I added a card base to the back of the frame, so it makes it easier to stand, and you can write inside the card.
I was initially going to make an easel, however there wasn't any space to write a proper Happy Birthday greeting.

I really love knots. Really! And definitely something required for a Nautical Theme. And I love the Gold Embossed starfish too!
This is a 'Celtic Heart Knot' I made using 'Very Vanilla Thick Baker's Twine' - and if you want to make your very own Celtic Heart Knot, click here.

I went about to make a masculine version of my accidental frame. I started with 'Dapper Denim' cardstock, and I stamped the rope stamp onto 'Crumb Cake' cardstock then fussy cut the rope. I lifted the stamped knot using 'Stampin' Dimensionals'. Again, making a card base and adhered to the back of the frame.

The sentiments are Gold embossed onto Vellum. I used the 'Layering Circle Framelits' for the main sentiment, and fussy cut 'Ahoy, there!' for the top of the frame.

Thankyou for visiting my blog. I have left my post to the last minute this week - lots happening, but there is always time for papercrafting! Hope you have a fabulous week! D x
