I Love You - 'Case the Designer' Challenge #gdp020 & 'Love Sweet Love' #tgifc39

Hello! Today I am showing you my creation for the Global Design Project 'Case the Designer' Challenge #gdp020. We are CASEing Design Team Member Connie Collins.
(If you are wondering what 'CASE' means?; Copy and Selectively Editing for the GDP Challenges.)
Here is Connie's card:
And my first ever entry into the TGIF Challenges #tgifc39!
And this is the TGIF Challenge:

Here is my CASE of Connie's creation:
My card reflects the colours and theme of Connie's original card. However, I have made it my own using different elements. The hearts on the vellum are lined up and I thought these would indicate the 'stripes'.
The square frame has been made using the Square Collection Framelits. A different take to the 'heart'.
I heat embossed the Gold Glitter 'Love' onto vellum, and added the 'i' and 'you' from the 'Circle of Spring' stampset. I love this font!!! The teeny red heart was punched from the Confetti Hearts Border Punch.
Inside the card is a strip of Basic Black cardstock, punched with the Confetti Hearts and then filled with Real Red Confetti Hearts. As much fun as a jigsaw, and a fun finish within.

There is plenty of time to join in for this weeks Global Design Project Challenge. Check the Schedule here and have a go. You may be surprised with what you come up with. And most of all it's a great opportunity to Challenge yourself and have fun. Last week there were 107 entries submitted!!!

Thankyou for visiting my blog. I really love getting a comment or two. And if you do leave me a comment, you could be chosen at random to win this Valentine card for the one you love! (Non-Demonstrators only) D x

Beautiful Ride + You're Sublime - Global Design Project Theme Challenge #GDP019

| on
21:41
Hello and welcome to my blog. I am playing along with the Global Design Project Theme Challenge #gdp019. This week the Theme is 'LOVE'. The Design Team have some gorgeous creations and there is plenty of time for you to join in too. You can check the Schedule here
With Valentine's Day not too far away, my creation is a bit outside the square. I have definitely followed the brief re: Love, but I have another reason for the theme...
My love is the 'Beautiful Ride' Stampset in the Occasions Catalogue alongside my love for the 'You're Sublime' stampset in the Annual Catalogue. (I was cleaning the house and this little combo of the car & caravan popped into my head!) I also love watercolouring with Aquapens, and I love Pool Party. And I also love Stand Up Paddle Boarding - which we have been doing a lot of lately.
I heat embossed the hearts using Versamark and White Embossing Powder. And then I watercoloured; using the the ink from the Classic Stampin' Pads. I smooshed the inkpad and lid together and when you open the lid the ink is sitting in the middle. Using an Aquapen wet down the Watercolour Paper, pick up some colour with your Aquapen and start colouring. I started with the Daffodil Delight, then added Soft Sky blending the two colours together in the top left corner. Adding the Pool Party then Lost Lagoon. Set aside to dry completely or if you are in a hurry you can use your Heat Tool to speed up the drying process.
And on the inside is the lovely sentiment 'Life is a Beautiful Ride' with a layer of Washi Tape from the 'Everyday Chic' Designer Washi Tape. This pattern amongst the Washi Tape reminds me of a print from a car tyre.

Hold on, I had another idea, and this one is a Wedding card...
I stamped the car image onto the 'Hearts' pattern from the 'Everyday Chic' Designer Series Paper. Snipping out the car, I added the highlights of tyres, side mirror, bumper, tail lights and handle using Smoky Slate and the windows in Soft Sky - yes, all fussy cut and adhered. And so is the luggage!
The sentiment is 'Love Bug' but I added an 'S' from one of the other stamps in the set. Being a wedding card, the 'Love Bugs' surrounded by hearts is a perfect finish, and the layer of another pattern from the 'Everyday Chic' Washi Tape is a bunch of kisses.

My 2 boys love to craft and we had a friend over for some crafty fun. I asked each of them; 'What is the first thing you think of when I say the word "Love"?'
My eldest (7) said 'Birds in a tree and a love heart'. Our friend (7) said 'Cupcakes' and my youngest (6) said 'Crocodiles'. And here are their creations with inky fingers and all!

Thankyou for visiting my blog. I hope you had fun looking at my creations? I love reading and replying to your comments, so don't forget to leave me something to read. See you all next week. D x

Birthday Bouquet Sketch Challenge - Global Design Project #gdp018

Hello there. This week is a Sketch Challenge for the Global Design Project #gdp018. The Design Team have created some award worthy projects and you have to see what they have done!  I love a Sketch Challenge, and I really love this one!
This is my creation;
A very pretty & pink 'Happy Birthday' card using the ever so beautiful 'Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper' and the 'Number of Years' stampset.
I fussy cut the flower (yes, I had to take a deep breath in before my snips touched the paper), and on the flip side of this pretty DSP is the Blushing Bride brushstrokes. I stamped the 'Happy Birthday' in Blushing Bride ink onto the striped paper to make the rectangular greetings element from the sketch.
You might be able to see that I have covered the sentiments, and outlined the flower & leaves with a touch of Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. LOVE THAT STUFF!!! And a little bit of machine sewing to add some texture around the Blushing Bride mat.
I used up some strips of the DSP to pretty up the inside of the card. And kept the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment uninterrupted.

Thankyou for taking the time to visit and read my blog post. I would love to hear from you if you would like to leave me a comment. D x

Love Blossoms Colour Challenge - Global Design Project #gdp017

It's a Colour Challenge for Week 17 of the Global Design Project  #gdp017, and the divine colours we are using:
http://www.global-design-project.com/2016/01/global-design-project-gdp017.html
My creation is a sweet little lidded box using the NEW 'Love Blossoms' Designer Series Paper; the perfect DSP for this weeks challenge because the coordinating colours are Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Rose Red & Whisper White.
I have made a Rose Red rose using the Spiral Flower Originals Die, and Garden Green leaves using the Bird Builder Punch. I daubed around the edges of the rose and leaves using coordinating ink and dusted the petals and edges of the leaves with some glitter from the NEW Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush for some sparkle. This Glitter is a MUST HAVE - seriously!
The lidded box is from a tutorial by Sam Hammond Donald - Pootles Papercraft. I found this video tutorial on Sam's blog 'Heat Embosssed Pretty Box Tutorial' - although my box is not heat embossed the dimensions and construction are all the same.
Don't forget to check out the NEW Occasions Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure (5th January - 31st March). There are so many beautiful NEW products, and the best part is you get 1 FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure when you spend $90AUD.
Thankyou for visiting me and my blog. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my creation and you are more than welcome to leave me a comment or ask any questions. D x

Creation Station Blog Hop 'My Favourite New Products'

| on
01:00
Welcome to my blog and to the first 'Creation Station Blog Hop' for 2016. This month we are showcasing our 'Favourite Products' in the NEW Occasions Catalogue which you can purchase from January 5th, 2016!!! That's only 1 more sleep for those of us in the South Pacific. Yay!!! And... it is Sale-A-Bration time too.

Our little guy is turning 6 tomorrow!!! So, with a Birthday Party looming I created some invitations, party loot bags, a cake banner and of course a Birthday card. Here are the Invites...
I have loved the 'Beautiful Ride' stampset ever since I first saw it at On Stage in Melbourne. How adorable is the car???
Finnlay's Birthday party will be at the River where we go Stand Up Paddle Boarding, and the surfboard on top of the car is a perfect little accessory for the Invitations. The balloons have been punched using the Party Wishes Punch Pack, and tied using the Baker's Twine Combo Pack; Mint Macaron & Basic Black. (I split the Mint Macaron from the Basic Black entwined twine, and pulled apart single strings.)
Inside...
The Party Loot bags were made using the Gift Bag Punch Board. I decorated the Whisper White cardstock with the balloon and string  stamps. The 'Thankyou' is stamped onto Vellum then adhered using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. All tied up with two-tone Mint Macaron & Basic Black Baker's Twine.
The Birthday Cake Banner - this was made using the Banner Punch, the gorgeous 'It's My Party' Designer Series Paper Stack and Baker's Twine. This is such an easy project to make and cute detail for the Sandcastle Birthday cake. (We can imagine a Sandcastle cake for now - in the mean time a mini bucket of sand will suffice until the day of the party.)
Lastly, Finnlay's Birthday card... I have used the dog stamp, because Finnlay LOVES dogs. This little dog is having a great time in the back seat on a little Birthday adventure.
I have stamped the 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' from the 'Party Wishes' stampset and wait for it... it comes as a BUNDLE with the 'Party Punch Pack' saving you 15%. Bargain!!!
*Did you see the 'I' on the BIRTHDAY? A Bermuda Bay candle punched using the Candle punch... too much cuteness with these punches.
Inside...

Happy Birthday to our spirited, funny and lovely little man.
