Hello and welcome to my blog. I am playing along with the Global Design Project Theme Challenge #gdp019. This week the Theme is 'LOVE'. The Design Team have some gorgeous creations and there is plenty of time for you to join in too. You can check the Schedule here.
With Valentine's Day not too far away, my creation is a bit outside the square. I have definitely followed the brief re: Love, but I have another reason for the theme...
My love is the 'Beautiful Ride' Stampset in the Occasions Catalogue alongside my love for the 'You're Sublime' stampset in the Annual Catalogue. (I was cleaning the house and this little combo of the car & caravan popped into my head!) I also love watercolouring with Aquapens, and I love Pool Party. And I also love Stand Up Paddle Boarding - which we have been doing a lot of lately.
I heat embossed the hearts using Versamark and White Embossing Powder. And then I watercoloured; using the the ink from the Classic Stampin' Pads. I smooshed the inkpad and lid together and when you open the lid the ink is sitting in the middle. Using an Aquapen wet down the Watercolour Paper, pick up some colour with your Aquapen and start colouring. I started with the Daffodil Delight, then added Soft Sky blending the two colours together in the top left corner. Adding the Pool Party then Lost Lagoon. Set aside to dry completely or if you are in a hurry you can use your Heat Tool to speed up the drying process.
And on the inside is the lovely sentiment 'Life is a Beautiful Ride' with a layer of Washi Tape from the 'Everyday Chic' Designer Washi Tape. This pattern amongst the Washi Tape reminds me of a print from a car tyre.
Hold on, I had another idea, and this one is a Wedding card...
I stamped the car image onto the 'Hearts' pattern from the 'Everyday Chic' Designer Series Paper. Snipping out the car, I added the highlights of tyres, side mirror, bumper, tail lights and handle using Smoky Slate and the windows in Soft Sky - yes, all fussy cut and adhered. And so is the luggage!
My 2 boys love to craft and we had a friend over for some crafty fun. I asked each of them; 'What is the first thing you think of when I say the word "Love"?'
My eldest (7) said 'Birds in a tree and a love heart'. Our friend (7) said 'Cupcakes' and my youngest (6) said 'Crocodiles'. And here are their creations with inky fingers and all!

The sentiment is 'Love Bug' but I added an 'S' from one of the other stamps in the set. Being a wedding card, the 'Love Bugs' surrounded by hearts is a perfect finish, and the layer of another pattern from the 'Everyday Chic' Washi Tape is a bunch of kisses.
