Autism Awareness Blog Hop 2018

Hello, and welcome to my blog. You are visiting me; I am Denita and I live in Australia. Thankyou for joining me from Jenny's Blog, or may have started from here.
I was invited to be a part of this wonderful 'Autism Awareness Blog Hop', by Maria Willis.
What a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and talk about, raise awareness and be educated about Austism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) that may have already impacted yourself, your family, your friends, your neighbours - or not. 

I have created a card for a dear friend of mine, and this time last week she was at her wits end with worry and had lots of questions about the possible placement of her youngest son into an Aspect school - not mainstream, and away from his 2 big brothers.
I just wanted to send her some love and friendship.

'Shine'
For my friend Christie, and her little boy Sam. 
And to everyone else in the ASD community. 
I know a lot of families with children who have been diagnosed with ASD. 
As a Registered Nurse, I see families all the time in my Clinic. The opportunity to assist with referals to particular Specialists, Allied Health or Services pertaining to the child's and families needs is important when you live in a small community. 

I die-cut the 'Sunshine' sentiment, and snipped away the 'Sun'. I added the little heart which belongs to the tag topper in the 'Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies' to add it to the letter i.

'There's nothing little about the light you shine'

A bit of a stormy scene, yet the Lighthouse represents standing strong and tall with it's beam of light for our ASD community, and to find the support and assistance they require.
'A child with special needs inspires you to be a better person'.

Inspire.Create.Stamping Challenge - Colour Challenge #016

The inspire.create.stamping Challenges are having a 'Colour Challenge' using the about to retire '2016-2018 In Color Collection'.
Seeing as these lovely Colours are retiring, (one will be returning)
we are paying homage to this delightful collection. You can use all the colours, a few, or one. Show us your lovely 2016-2018 In Color creations by adding them to our gallery here.

I have used the 'Whisper White Narrow Notecards and Envelopes' and all of the '2016-2018 In Colors' individually, as you will see below:

I have used the flower and sentiment from the 'Color Me Happy' stamp set. And also the 'Timeless Textures' stamp set for the background.

I coloured the outline and underneath the petals, and stamens of the flowers using the '2016-2018 Stampin' Write Markers', and a 'Sponge Dauber' with the ink pads to lightly add colour to the flower.
I also layered 2 flowers to create a 3D flower popping off the front of the card.

I made envelope liners using the 'Petal Passion Designer Series Paper'. Die cutting the DSP with a 'Layering Circle Framelit Die', and colouring with a 'Sponge Dauber' and the '2016-2018 In Color Classic Stampin' Pads' to coordinate with the intended card.
I just love how my cards and envelopes have turned out.

Just Add Ink 'Just Add a Shaker' Challenge #404

The 'Heart Happiness' stamp set makes for a lovely Shaker card.

'Celebrate'

The Shaker element using 'Gold Glitter Flakes' and the Hearts (adhered onto the backing piece) are from the Tag Topper Die found in the 'Hometown Greetings Edgelits Die'.

 Stamp the heart with 'Real Red' Ink, and die-cut using the 'Circle Stitched Shapes Framelits Die'.
Fussy cut the inside of the heart for the 'window' of the Shaker. Using a circle of 'Window Sheet', adhere this to the back of the 'Whisper White' circle.

Created for some dear friends Celebrating their 30th Wedding Anniversary this week. (I know they love red!)
