Wow! What a weekend we had at OnStage Live Brisbane 2016!
It was so wonderful to meet up with fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from Australia, and from around the world. The buzz and excitement of a Stampin' Up! Convention is nothing short of fun and awesome times.
If you want to join me for OnStage Local Sydney 2017 in April, all you have to do is join my team. I'll be back with more about joining Stampin' Up! soon, or you can contact me anytime.

OnStage here we are! Woo-hoo!; Roomie gift tag to the amazing Louise Sharp (gift yet to be blogged!); The view from our balcony in beautiful South Brisbane; Roomie gifts from the amazing Artisan Design Team Member 2017 Louise Sharp! (Read all about Louise's exciting news on her blog.)

So, best to be getting on with this weeks Global Design Project 'Colour Challenge' #gdp061

With a little trepidation as to the colour palette (not my go-to colours), I took a deep breath and literally challenged myself to create something using the NEW 'Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies' and the colours in question...
I made some notecards and showcasing the 3 shapes from the 'Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies'.
I surrounded the Die-cut shapes with 'Sweet Sugarplum' flowers & 'Emerald Envy' leaves water coloured, stamped & die cut from the 'Swirly Bird Bundle'.
The 'Circle of Spring' sentiments are stamped in 'Basic Black Archival Ink'.
Dimensions: 15.2cm x 7.6cm scored at 7.6cm
(6" x 3" scored at 3"),

A close up of the flourish of flowers and the sparkle of the Shimmery White cardstock. And the gorgeous stitching of the Die-cut circle.

So, how did I create my flowers & leaves?
When you die-cut a stamped image, there is a border of cardstock left around the edge, in this case it would have been a white border.
*Firstly, I water coloured a piece of 'Shimmery White' cardstock with 'Emerald Envy' ink, and another piece with 'Sweet Sugarplum' ink leaving the cardstock to dry completely.

*Once the water coloured Shimmery White cardstock was dry, I stamped the 'Swirly Bird' leaf image using 'Emerald Envy' onto the coordinating water coloured cardstock, and the flower image onto the coordinating 'Sweet Sugarplum' water coloured cardstock.

*The stamped images were die-cut with the coordinating 'Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies', and you are left with full colour images.

Here are the measurements of the dies I used (2nd smallest of each shape), and showing the negative space from the 'Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies'.
The 'Whisper White' cardstock measures 7cm x 15cm and I was able to fit the 3 dies together. This makes for 1 run through the Big Shot, saving time doing each shape 1 by 1.
