Global Design Project - Theme Challenge #gdp055

The Global Design Project has a RAK Theme for this weeks Challenge #gdp055
RAK: 'Random Acts of Kindness' - even just reading that brings a smile to your face. How wonderful is it to receive an out of the blue 'Just for You', or a 'Thankyou' from someone?

My creation is for a beautiful and dear friend of mine going through a tough time at the moment.

'Friend'. A beautiful barrow full of flowers can lift someones spirits and hopefully some words of love within my card can bring a smile.

I am going away for a holiday with my family this weekend, and I wanted my friend to know that I am thinking of her and her family while I will be away.

And some matchy-matchy tealights, wrapped with 'Affectionately Yours' Designer Washi Tape.

Oh, that Copper Embossing! Love it!

Thankyou so much for visiting my blog. I hope you were inspired by my RAK card, and that you can join in with this weeks Challenge?

Global Design Project - Sketch Challenge #gdp054

It's time for another Challenge for the
Global Design Project #gdp054
This week it's a 'Sketch Challenge'; Sketch designed by the talented Teneale Williams.
My creation is a Christmas card using the adorable 'Merry Mice' stampset.

Miss Mouse is getting ready to 'Deck the Halls!' How adorable is she?

I loved colouring this little mouse. I stamped her onto 'Shimmery White' cardstock - a beautiful medium to use for Watercolour and Blenderpen, and using 'Stampin' Write Markers' for the finer detail on her outfit.
And the 'Gold Glimmer' bling adds such fun Christmassy sparkle! Even the bauble has some much needed bling!

'Merry Christmouse' for the inside of my card. Too cute!

Isn't this stampset the cutest? I love it! Hope you do too?

Thankyou for paying me a visit. I love having you here. Have a wonderful rest of your week. D x

Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Hop

Goodmorning!
It is a very exciting Blog Hop today. I am from Australia and one of 10 International Stampin' Up! Demonstrators featuring in Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Hop. The links to all the other Demonstrators are below, so make sure you check out all the wonderful creations.

Do you ever get inspired to create by things you see in your everyday? You might see something in a magazine; clothing, flowers or décor? or something at home, at work or shopping that gets your creative mind in a buzz???
Well, I have a little creation that came to me as soon as I saw the Foxy Friends Bundle in the Annual Catalogue...

A little 'Foxy Friends' card I made for my little boy, Finnlay.

My 6 1/2 year old loves foxes! Loves them. We were in Sydney last Winter and we found this foxy toque. As you can see, my creation is somewhat a replica in cardstock. And thanks to the 'Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder'
(try saying that 3 times!) - for the knitted effect on the cardstock.

Inside: 'Have a Foxiful day' is always said as my husband leaves for work every morning. We're not sure if this is a quote from the movie 'Fantastic Mr Fox' or a little Finnlayism!
So cute!

The dude is stylin'!

Thankyou for visiting my blog and get yourself ready to go hopping to the other Blogs. There is inspiration aplenty with the creative talent that surrounds me. D x

Global Design Project - Colour Challenge #gdp053

| on
14:40
Hi there! It's a 'Colour Challenge' for this weeks Global Design Project #gdp053. And a trio of lovliness too!
My creative brain goes into overdrive when it's 'Colour Challenge' time. I try not to look at the Design Teams creations for inspiration (I know they are going to be outstanding!) however, it's a Challenge for myself to see what I can create. I always think about what's ahead; a Birthday? or other occasion lending to the colours chosen.

First, I created a Happy Birthday card. Using Gold - embossing & 'Foil Sheets', Night of Navy - cardstock & 'Baker's Twine' and Watermelon Wonder - flowers from the 'Botanical Builder Framelits Dies'.

A close up of the pretty details; 'Floral Affection Textured Impressions Embossing Folder', the gold embossed sentiment from 'Birthday Blooms' stampset onto 'Shimmery White' cardstock and my favourite of all details - the tiny bow made from Baker's Twine.

Then I made these! It's the end of Term 3 next week, and I made a couple of little boxes for my boys teachers as a little 'Thankyou' before they go on their well deserved break.

A couple of the cutest boxes filled with treats. These are my go-to boxes as they are so easy to make and you can get 6 lids from 1 sheet of DSP or 12" x 12" paper. I used the NEW 'Fancy Frost Specialty DSP' from the NEW Holiday Catalogue.

To make the boxes:
Bottom: Cardstock 17.7cm x 12.7cm or 6 5/16" x 4 15/16"
Score all 4 sides 4cm or 1 1/2"
Lid: DSP 15cm x 10 cm or 6" x 4"
Score all 4 sides 2.5cm or 1"
I have the Tutorial for you from Sam Hammond aka Pootles Papercraft.

I love the 'Fancy Frost DSP'. There are some beautiful textured patterns from this pack. And a close up of the details; I had to add a bow! The box didn't look complete until I added the Baker's Twine and bow to the lid.

Thankyou so much for being here! I hope you have enjoyed my creations and I will be back with more creations next week. Have a wonderful weekend. D x

Global Design Project - Case the Designer #gdp052

| on
05:51
Hello and welcome to my blog!
Today I have submitted a creation for the Global Design Project - CASE the Designer Challenge #gdp052. And the GDP Design Team Member we are CASEing is Teneale Williams!
I am in awe of Teneale's creations. And Teneale also designs the Sketches for the GDP Sketch Challenges. Such a clever and amazingly talented girl.
CASE - Copy And Selectively Edit. I have Copied Teneale's layout, and I mixed up the Colour combination and used different stamp sets for my creation...

My little 'Foxy Friend' sitting on a stump! Isn't he just the cutest little thing?

My sentiment has been kept simple. I used one of the sweet sentiments from the 'Fairy Celebration' stampset. Using an 'Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker', I coloured the 'love' and stamped into the bottom right corner.

I used the gorgeous 'Mini Striped Ribbon' in Tip Top Taupe for the strip of ribbon & bow. And the heart instead of a button? Punched from the 'Cookie Cutter Builder Punch'. More cuteness!
*The normal width of this ribbon is 1.6cm or 5/8", however, I have made my ribbon width half of the original size. Instead of cutting the ribbon in half - which would leave a frayed edge, I applied a strip of 'Tear & Tape Adhesive' to the edge of one side of the ribbon and folded it in half! Easy peasy.

Here are the simple steps to create a smaller width of the 'Mini Striped Ribbon'.
1. Apply the Tear & Tape adhesive
2. Remove the backing paper from the tape
3. Fold the ribbon edge to edge
4.Ta-da!

Thankyou so much for visiting. I hope you get the chance to play along to this weeks Challenge? It's a lot of fun. And before I go I want to share with you that I was one of the Winners of last weeks 'Theme Challenge: Food'.

Creation Station Design Team Blog Hop - 'Holiday Catalogue Favourites'

| on
00:00
The Holiday Catalogue is finally here, Yay!, and it is full of the most gorgeous products. My Wish List is basically; 'All of it. Please and thankyou!' Just wait and see for yourself.
The 'Creation Station Design Team' has created for you a wonderful Blog Hop full of ideas and inspiration just for you. So let's get cracking with what I have made...

Introducing the 'Cookie Cutter Christmas' Stampset & coordinating 'Cookie Cutter Builder Punch' - a fabulous Bundle & Save 10%, if I do say so myself.

I have used all the cute characters from the stampset & coordinating 'Cookie Cutter Builder Punch', and I love how they have turned out. I use Gift tags a lot - especially for Christmas gifts, so my designs are ready to go!

Here's Rudolph. And his shiny nose. I covered Rudolph's red nose with Fine-tip Glue to make it shiny. He is so cute.

The Gingerbread man is so sweet! I used a White Gel pen for the icing. Making them look so real you could almost eat them!

Santa is a little bit adorable! All of the pieces of Santa have been cut individually and pieced together. I used Watercolour Paper for his beard and trim to his hat, coat & pants. It would definitely be easier to Colour using Stampin' Write Markers.

Oh my goodness! Check out these cuties!!! I couldn't help it and had to make plaits for the girl. I used a Blender Pen to colour them in and I love them so much!

And the little bear. How gorgeous is the sentiment? And perfect for a Baby's First Christmas? Too much cuteness...

And I happened to make a few Baby Bear tags too. This little bear was perfect for a Baby Theme! These little gift tags are perfect for a New Baby or for a Baby Shower.

And before I go so you can go and visit the other Blogs, I have one more creation for you.

I had to make a mini house from the 'Sweet Home Photopolymer Bundle' with the darling little mouse from the 'Merry Mice' stampset. This little guy reminds me of Clark Griswold (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Comedy) - in a cute kind of way, getting ready to decorate his house in Christmas lights.
With love and thanks to Louise, who last weekend invited me over to craft and use her 'Sweet Home Bundle' because I had this idea I had to make. Lucky she is only 2 minutes away!

Thankyou for visiting my blog, and I know that you are going to love seeing what's in store from here on in. Click 'Back' to visit Elizabeth, or Click 'Next' to visit Sara.

Global Design Project - Theme Challenge #gdp051

| on
13:58
This week the Global Design Project have a Theme Challenge being 'Food'. What a yummy theme, and so many possibilities for Food themed goodness from the Stampin' Up! Catalogues.
From looking at the GDP banner I felt the pineapples & cupcakes could be quite popular - I have chosen the 'Fruit Stand' Designer Series Paper as my Food themed creations, and the coordinating 'Fruitstand A4 Cardstock' in the Summery colours of Pear Pizzazz, Peekaboo Peach & Watermelon Wonder.
I made a whole bunch of Notecards using the 'Fruit Stand DSP' as the main mat. The stamped image and sentiment are from the 'Jar of Love' Photopolymer stampset. And they needed a little touch of 'Burlap Ribbon' too. The Notecards are matchy-matchy to...

Another food themed idea: I made up some 'Clear Tiny Treat Boxes', lined them with a strip of the 'Fruit Stand DSP' and filled them with coordinating lollies!
Yep, there is a tiny treat box of Peaches & Cream, and a tiny treat box of 'Fruit Salad', and a tiny treat box of Strawberries & Cream - perfectly coordinated to match the Notecards.

The belly band wraps around the tiny treat box and I secured the 'Sweet Treats' label with 'Linen Thread'.

Thankyou for visiting, and seeing my creations. They were fun and easy to make; a little production line of cutting the cardstock, die cutting, stamping and gluing is all it takes. Hope you get a chance to make your very own. D x

*Notecards measure 14cm x 7cm - scored at 7cm or 5.5" x 2.75" - scored at 2.75".
From 1 piece of A4 Cardstock you get 4 Notecards, and left over cardstock for the Scallop Circles and the belly bands for Treat Boxes.
